What is YOUR Life Path and Life Purpose?

Beginning with a lighter approach to this subject let us look at Life Purpose through the lens of Numerology, then Astrology and finally through the spiritual perspective that I am studying through the Akasha Mystery School. Numerology -- Life Path and Life Purpose

This book has a lot of depth and is very insightful. It really helped me to understand some of my personal gifts, and it has resonated for other people I know too. Certain parts of the book will apply to your profile, while other parts will apply to others, like your friends and family.

Astrology -- Life Purpose

Astrology was one of the first areas I visited as a young adult because my sun sign, Libra, completely resonated with my view and experience of myself. Some astrologers call the sun signs our soul signs. Author, Diane Eichenbaum, in Soul Signs - Harness the Power of the Sun Sign and Become the Person You Were Meant To Be discusses each sign as having soul power with an ego blockage to overcome. To harness the soul power one has to have a certain level of detachment for listening and receiving information from the soul at a higher level of consciousness.

I like Jan Spiller and Karen McCoy's book on Spiritual Astrology - Your personal path to self-fulfillment because it offers the big picture of what our soul's have already experienced and what we are needing to learn in this life time. It's another guide to life path and purpose. This one is based on our solar and lunar eclipse which relate to the north node and south node in your natal chart. When I applied this personally, I could see how comfortable I was with the nurturing aspect (cancer) of where I had been and who I am today, that it really surprised me to learn that I needed to master, the opposite sign, Capricorn in the 3rd house, in this life time. Since Capricorn is the goat climbing the mountain, it includes aspects of ambition and rising to positions of prominence within organizations or institutions which remains to be seen, since I keep side stepping the traditional paths.

Another astrology resource,The Book of Pluto - Turning Darkness to Wisdom with Astrology, by Steven Forrest helped me to understand my life path and purpose by just focusing on the placement of Pluto in my natal chart (in my 10th house of careers). With Pluto being the planet of transformation it suggested that I was going to have to make some major change in my career to align it with my soul (authentic self), and I could truly feel this need over the past several years especially.

The planet, Chiron, also called the "Wounded Healer" can give you some insights into the area in life that you might have to heal before it can become a great gift to you. But really, isn't that quite true about all areas of wounds or challenges. See last paragraph. Please remember that these are just beginning steps toward interpreting the raw data. In fact, there is a more exacting science that takes into account aspects (or angles) and an art to doing a proper reading of your life path chart. Typical horoscopes just take into account the sun sign as it moves through the signs in present time. It's quite different from reading a natal chart or looking at all of your planets as they progress through different signs....An experienced astrologer can co-ordinate all the data into a comprehensive, integrated whole, including all the conflicting aspects. Yes, you can have parts of your chart saying the opposite message, like you are shy and another part says you are outgoing....It requires a considerable amount of study and experience to be a top notch astrologer. Computer generated reports are never as good as a real life astrologer but they can give you an amazing amount of information and are increasingly able to integrate different variables for relatively little cost.

Recently (June 2007), a discourse by Ascended Master Kuthumi, told the students of the Akasha Mystery School, that we are not to give their power away to astrology. As we develop an ever increasing relationship with our I AM Presence, it is no longer appropriate to go to any other source for answers. With that said, I was going to delete my whole section on astrology, but instead I'm offering you this understanding about it. When I think back on how astrology could have totally sidetracked me from the greater knowledge of the love, wisdom and power of my I Am Presence, I feel blessed that I didn't get too captivated by it. Yes, it can be a tool for reflection but don't allow it to be used in predicting anything. Please understand that all astrology can be transcended, so don't let it limit your life path or purpose.

Akasha Mystery School -- Life Purpose

The subjective life path and purpose is when you fulfill your destiny through who you have become, so it is serving humanity through all of your activities regardless of what area you choose to work in.

The students of the Akasha Mystery spiritual school are being encouraged to follow whatever brings them closer to happiness and joy, for this will help you to express the light of who you are better. It will serve as a model to others when they see you living your joy as you honor the uniqueness of who you are and find ways to express it in your life. It will bring you closer and closer to your gifts and deeper joys, which we so often lose complete touch with.

I know so many people who feel lost about what they really want to do in life. And it gets really complicated when our minds tell us we SHOULD do something. We're not used to following our hearts and listening to our promptings, especially when concepts around finances often dictate our choices. But ultimately, in applying the simple steps of moving closer to what makes us happy, providing that it is constructive and doesn't hurt anyone, you will come closer to finding your own life path and purpose and reason that you came to earth in this life time. In fact, all that we do is our ministry to life. How do you spend or focus your life energy?

My good friend, recently visited an Ashram where she was reflecting on the fact that our work is actually there for our own growth. Sometimes we start thinking that the work needs us, but perhaps it's the other way around, we need the work to help us see ourselves and to grow. Eventually, we might realize that we don't even need that work at all, with paths of abundance streaming in, we can focus our energy more precisely on the things in life that will make a difference.

As we continue to clear our bodies of hurts and wounds and any residual density that needs our forgiveness, Akasha has asked us to look at the remaining challenges as unique opportunities -- where silver linings exist. They will be the places that we rise above the problem and excel. They will be the places where the power within and above us is drawn on to transform ourselves and any appearance into a great blessing, a demonstration of our mastery. Know yourself and grow yourself with these workbook exercises.

As we come into greater mastery new gifts will unfold, as will new services to humanity and destiny fulfillments. They will be revealed to us as we ready ourselves to receive them.

In 2007 I had a reading with Akasha in which she gave me a beautiful prayer that would assist me in sorting out what truly makes my heart sing -- the key to my fulfillment, life purpose and higher purpose.

Here is that Prayer of Illumination:

Mighty Presence of Life within me, Light of my Soul, I call forth the full power of the sacred flames of the mighty flame of illumination, of the full release of the light of illumination through my entire consciousness, my being and world.

There is the Greater I that abides within me. It is my heart of illumination and I call forth the flames of Illumination to blaze into me and to transform all that would hinder my manifestation of love, wisdom, power and conviction within my life stream and all that I give my life energy to in my projects and outer activities.

Through the Greater I that abides within me I connect to the great Masters of Illumination to resurrect in me the memory of my identity in God and the divine blueprint that is the plan for this life by the flame of illumination rising from my heart, my will, into my mind.

I call forth the restoration of my full Christ Consciousness as was ordained by God in the beginning of my descent into the physical manifest form.

I call forth the flame of illumination to descend and blaze divine wisdom into my feelings, my heart and every cell of my being, into my crown, and my mind. I call on that mighty flame of illumination to restore my connection once again with the forever present pure mind, pure heart and pure soul of the universal mind of creation, that the greater I, within me, is.
